Aimée Fearnsides - Lecturer in Dance
Aimee has been a specialist dance teacher for 3 years in a wide variety of educational establishments across the Tees Valley. As a peripatetic dance teacher she worked with children from primary, secondary schools and also students in further education, enabling them to study creative dance, GCSE and BTEC qualifications respectively in Contemporary Dance. As part of a small team, Aimee organised numerous classes, workshops and dance performances in many styles including hip hop/ street jazz, bollywood style, mainstream contemporary, physical theatre and contact improvisation.
She has also worked as a visiting lecturer in Dance at University of Sunderland delivering creative dance and choreography workshops. As well as teaching Aimee also choreographs and performs original contemporary dance works as part of a dance ensemble based at University of Sunderland. Aimee also has extensive experience of working in bands and has been lead singer and rhythm guitarist in both country and popular styles of bands, working at clubs and festivals across the UK. She is currently rehearsing for a new country act soon to be hitting the country clubs!
